The Junto Presents: Silver

We brought together 27 men away from the bustle of city of life to a mansion perched a block from Lake Michigan for an unforgettable weekend of beach walks and plenty late-night firepit conversations.
Our speakers were entrepreneur and educator Billy Banks, visual artist Zoe Rain, and connector Jared Mrozinske. The A-Team.
MAY 2020
Junto Weekend (No.1)
Our inaugural retreat saw nine conversations take place over the course of three days. The months leading up to the retreat had been testing for everyone. Lives, jobs, and opportunities had been lost. But we found ourselves harkening back to one message: the only thing you control in life is your response to it.
Rhodes scholars, entrepreneurs, athletes, creatives, and authors talked about their adaptation advantage, fighting the good fight, eustress, masculinity crisis, burnout, and maximising our 20s.

Junto Weekend (No.2)
A few lifetimes had passed since we convened in May. It seemed as if everything we knew to be true had been turned on its head.
So we asked the question: what remains?
Three things came to the top of the Junto’s mind: identity, curiosity and community – the lifeblood of absolutely everything we do. We heard how 6 world-class practitioners stay curious, create kickass communities at scale and get paid to forge identities for themselves.

We reflected on 2020 through the lens of our theme: ‘A New Beginning’ – a subject we’ve all been grappling with daily.
It’s safe to say 2020 was the new beginning. While uncomfortable, The Junto sees new beginnings as an opportunity to do (and think about) the lives we lead a little differently.
As seemingly unpredictable as they may seem, new beginnings are always preceded by a set of crumbs and clues. Whether we’re willing to acknowledge them, however, is an entirely different ballgame.
JANUARY 2021
Founding Member Retreat (No.1)
4 of the Junto’s 7 founding members descended on Austin, TX, for three days of conversation, food and community building. We hosted one of our famous 4-hour dinners and invited some killer local entrepreneurs, investors and technicians to join us.
We tapped into an older and more natural human experience. We discussed the value of naïveté in innovation that we so often in kids and the moments behind inflexion points that drive consumption in today’s zeitgeist. For a full debrief, listen to this podcast.
MARCH 2021
Junto Weekend (No.4)
The theme of our March 2021 retreat was “The 21st Century” — a phrase used to describe our expectations for the modern-day. But also a phrase with wildly different connotations in today’s zeitgeist.
Through the lens of politics, design, hospitality, and business, we had chefs, investors, designers and entrepreneurs define what the 21st Century means to them, to the domains they cared about, and how those answers can foster progress for society writ large.
